We are living in a modern culture. You've probably known that English language has been changing significantly. Now I am going to give you some of the describing words that should be avoided in communication. Using these words now-a-days is an offensive or it may not be a polite.

Words should be avoided:

• Handicapped,Cripple,Special

Instead of these words,one should use Person with disability,disabled.

• The blind

Instead,use words like Blind,Visually-impaired,People who are blind.

• The deaf

Instead,use words like deaf,hearing-impaired,people who are deaf.

• Deformed,lame,maimed

Instead,use words like Mobility disability.

• Retarded,mentally challenged 

Instead,use words like Developmentally disabled,intellectual disability.

• Mute,dumb

Instead,use words like Non-vocal,person with non-verbal

• Slow,special

Instead,use words like Learning disability.

• Mental,crazy,lunatic,insane

Instead,use words like Mental illness,Psychiatric disability.
