New Wi-Fi can extend Smartphone battery life

A Wi-Fi chip for wireless phones, laptops, computers and wearable devices has been developed by a NASA researcher. That uses 100 times less power than our traditional receivers.

The chip developed by Ardian Tang ,researcher at NASA's Jet propulsion lab in California. Popular Science reported that it extended battery life of nearly every device that connected with Wi-Fi.

They used a customized router instead of generating its own original signal.

Then data is imprinted on the signal when it is reflected.

"Because you are only imprinting on a Wi-Fi signal, you aren't generating it and don't need power" Mr.Tang quoted.
