How to increase Laptop battery life easily

Every laptop or notebook user these days suffering from its limited battery life. As far as your system is new,you will have a good battery back up time but when it getting older you will definitely face problem of limited battery life.


To day I am going to show you the trick to increase your battery life sufficiently.

You probably know there is an inbuilt command in your windows to increase battery life as well as computer performance. But not all users are aware of it. But some of the laptops come with power saving mode option. Its quite easy to set. If your laptop doesn't have this option you don't worry you will do this manually.

If you have laptop with windows 7, you can use the command 'powercfg' . It displays useful information about your laptop's energy consumption.

Steps to increase laptop battery back up time.

Step 1: Click on the Start Menu or Windows key,type CMD or COMMAND in the search bar.

Step 2: Search will start and it will then display an icon of CMD or Command Prompt . Simply Right click on it and select Run as administrator.

Step 3:Now it will open a command window. Type powercfg -energy and press Enter.

Once you successfully execute this command. You will get full report of scanning information in a hTML file. It commonly stores in System32 folder.

Read that file found in System32 folder and Fix the errors.

Some of the basic tips to increase battery backup

  • Disable your laptop's bluetooth if not in use.
  • Eject or remove external devices like Pendrive/External Hard Disc/DVD/Mobile devices etc.
  • Reduce screen brightness. It will consume a lot of energy of the battery.
  • Run Application that don't eat much RAM
  • Turn of your Wi-Fi if it is not using.
  • Make sure that your laptop's temperature remains low.
  • Don't use your laptop while charging. When it fully charges remove the power cord.
