Words

words 'in' 'on' 'at' to tell about time.

In:

  • in January/June/December etc...
  • in 1978/1996/2001 etc..
  • in the twenties/thirties/fifties etc..
  • in a few weeks
  • in a couple of days
  • in the morning/afternoon/evening.

At:

  • at six o' clock
  • at 10:30
  • at four p.m.
  • at night

On:

  • on Monday
  • on Friday
  • on 16th August
  • on October 22nd
  • On Diwali

  Words 'in' 'on' and 'at' to relate the places.

In:

  • In countries / states / cities / towns
Examples:
     In India,in America
     In Andhra Pradesh, in Assam
     In Hyderabad,in Ranchi
     In Adilabad,In Nalgonda
  • In a room / in a building / in a garden / in a park. ( Closed places )
  • In the water / in the sea / in a river /.( water bodies )
  • In a row / in a line / in a queue. ( with line )

At:

  • At the bus-stop / at the door / at the cinema / at the end of the street / at work / at home. ( Places )e t
  • At the top of the page / at the bottom of the page. ( places on a page )

On:

  • On the ceiling / on the well / on the floor
  • On the table / on the shelf / on the desk
  • On the right / on the left ( directions )
In / on /at the corner

We say in the corner of a room,but at the corner/on the corner of a street.
In /at/on  the front.
  • We say in the front / in the back of a car.
  • We say at the front / at the back of buildings / groups of people.
  • We say on the front / on the back of a piece of a paper

We have some words which come in this list:

in front of,opposite,into,over,near etc..
  • In tells about resisting position where as into tells you about the movement.
  • On shows the thing touches the surface of the object where as Over shows that there are not in contact.
