Parts of Speech contin..

Pronoun:

A word which is used for/ instead of/ in the place of a noun is called a pronoun. There are many kinds of pronouns. Some important pronouns are:
Personal Pronoun, Possessive Pronoun,Emphatic Pronoun, and Reflexive Pronoun.

Personal Pronoun: 

                                     Singular                            Plural
First Person                 I-me                                      We-us
Second Person            You-you                               You-you
Third Person                He/She/It                              They-them
                                   him/her/it

Verb:

A word which indicates an action/a condition/ possession is called a verb.
          Mahesh writes novels-Action
          India is a beautiful country-Condition
          We have  a big campus-Possession 
Note:  The details of the verb will be given in the tenses and tense forms.

Adjective:

A describing  word is called an adjective. It tells about the qualities,quantities,numbers,colours,etc.
Example:
 He is kind
There is a little water in the well
We are two brothers
He is wearing a blue shirt.

Adverb:

a. Adds to the meaning of a verb.
Example:
He speaks fast
They work hard
She writes neatly

b.Adds to the meaning of an adjective
Example:
The room is very clean
These students are quite intelligent
My house is extremely spacious 

c.Adds to the meaning of another adverb
Example:
He answers very quickly
They rarely play well
She never comes late

Preposition:

Shows the position of the noun.
A word which is placed before a noun or pronoun to bring relation with another  noun or pronoun is called a preposition.
ex:
Akhilesh came to my house
The book is on the table
She is at  the bus-stop

Note: Prepositions play an important role in English language and decide whether we are speaking standard English or not. We use prepositions for time,place,etc.

Conjunction:

Joins two groups of words
A word which joins sentences or part of a sentence is called a Conjunction.
ex:
He works hard. He earns a lot of money
He works hard and earns a lot of money.
We went out though it was raining.
It is easy if you speak in English.

Note: Part of a sentence here means a clause

Interjection:

A word  which expresses a strong or sudden feeling is called an interjection.
Oh! You are here.
Ah! I am tired.
Alas! I missed my last class.
Bravo! You have done well.
Hurray! We won the match.
